現在がん治療における分子標的薬剤は、年々新規薬剤が開発、承認されていますが、骨軟部肉腫に対して有効性が認められているものは少なく、そのメカニズムについても不明な点が多いのが現状です。IAP(Inhibitor of Apoptosis)ファミリータンパクの一つとして知られているsurvivinは、その発現抑制により細胞死を誘導し、既存抗がん薬の感受性を増強させると報告されています。骨軟部肉腫におけるsurvivinの役割を解明し、分子標的治療への臨床応用を目指した研究を行っております。また、IAPファミリータンパク質のendogenous antagonistとして作用するsmacについて,その模倣薬を用いて骨軟部肉腫における役割と既存の抗癌剤との併用効果について、研究を行っております。
